The Income Generation Project (IGP) celebrated Christmas with 157 women weavers, embroiders, and sewers on three different occasions in Umphiem Mai, Mae La, and Mae Ra Mu camps in Tak province and Mae Sariang province. The women had a great time bonding, sharing problems and successes, and just spending the day laughing and dancing and enjoying each other’s company. The year was both good and bad for both the IGP and the women artisans, but the Christmas spirit allowed everyone to take stock of her achievements and thank the Lord for the blessings and the strength to continue the work of IGP. Throughout the laughter that drowned the day, one thing was very apparent: women are empowered through their livelihood activities.
