Lahu Women’s Organization (LWO)
LWO was formed in 1997, Lahu women who had arrived in Thailand decided to form a women?s organization to help address the needs of women and children, and to defend the rights of women. Their aim is to empower Lahu women to participate in political, social, education, health and leadership roles.

Graduation Day is that day in anyone’s life where a sudden surge of different emotions come about all at once. It is that day when we recollect on our past experiences, both of hardships and triumph, and hold our heads up high as we stride and culminate our academic achievement. One would think that this particular moment could only possibly be had by those who live normal lives with proper access to education but to have it narrowed down as such would be wrong. Putting things into context, a normal life would constitute having afforded the basic human rights such as rights to proper shelter and education.
WEAVE continues to mobilize its resources in the province of Mae Hong Son in advocating for Early Childhood Development. Headed by WEAVE’s ECD Department, a series of trainings, workshops and meetings were conducted in both Camps 1 and 2 on the Thai-Burma border during the entire month of March.
